In my last message I suggested spring was here – as it turns out it was merely a two week heat wave. But consistent warmer weather is just around the corner and thanks to the efforts of Stacey Names we have another great summer of recreation activities planned for you and your kids. Hopefully everyone received the 2012 LDC recreation book via email recently and you’ve had a chance to sign up – don’t forget to take advantage of the early bird discount by registering prior to May 31st.
You may have noticed a change in the LDC landscape service provider for 2012. We have contracted with Stano for 2012 and to date they are doing a great job. We were able to combine into one contract the services formerly performed by two providers and in doing so achieve an overall reduction in cost. We’re optimistic this new partnership will help keep LDC looking great. A special thank you also goes out to Hack Noyes for his work to engage Stano and his willingness to assist with LDC grounds even after his departure from the Board.
Construction will begin soon on the sidewalk project at the Clubhouse – please use caution in this area while the work is being completed. The project is planned to start in early/mid May and be completed in advance of the Memorial Day weekend opening of the pool.
It’s hard to believe my three-year term on the Board is nearly over – it’s gone by very fast and I’ve genuinely enjoyed the chance to work alongside my colleagues on the Board. It has been a great group of people and we should all be proud of the effort and commitment they have consistently put forth to make LDC such a great place to live. Michael Levin and Roger Lindo will also be leaving the Board after the May homeowner’s meeting and I would like to thank them both for their hard work, leadership, diligence, and great attitude these last three years. It has been a pleasure to serve LDC and I am confident we continue to be in great hands under the guidance of our six remaining Board members and three soon to be elected new members.
Thank you all,
Jason Parsons
