WE Energies/Asplundh has begun work in LDC. They are going to be taking down trees and debris in the common areas owned by the LDC, the City of Mequon’s 20 ft. easement, and in some rare instances, if necessary, on individual homeowners’ property (with homeowner approval). The trees and debris are over 5 years overdue for cutbacks. They are a hazard to the homeowners of LDC, as power outages in our community have become unbearable – typically with the Spring rains – causing flooded basements and other property issues. This is a reminder from your friends and neighbors that if WE Energies or Asplundh asks to remove a tree that lies within your property line, to please allow them to. We understand how trees provide privacy and beauty to your property, however, if the tree is causing a power outage (flooded basements, etc.) down the line to your friends and neighbors it is not in anyone’s best interest. With the spring thaw this year likely to be heavy and sump pumps expected to be running at full steam, power outages could be devastating for some families. Please help us avoid this as a community!
