Upcoming Lake Treatment | Quick Updates on Board Meeting | Pool Opens for the Summer on June 11

Early Notice for Lake Treatment: June 20 -24
We have scheduled a weed treatment for the lake during the week of June 20-24. We will provide an update with a specific date as the treatment gets closer. Residents on the lake should not water their lawns during this week. Also as a reminder, all residents should not swim in the lake for 24hrs after the treatment.

Stay tuned for more details as we finalize those dates.
June 7 Board Meeting Updates
Big thanks to everyone that attended this week’s in-person board meeting. It was great to see so many residents actively participating in important discussions that impact our neighborhood. We’ll put out full details from that meeting soon, but I just wanted to provide a couple quick updates for those who submitted proxies or weren’t able to attend.

The Reforestation plan (linked below) passed with a majority of votes. We’ll have those exact totals for you in the coming week. This means that the committee is planning to move forward with planting this fall. As more details come to light on this project, we’ll send those out to residents.

Meg Noyes (Grounds Chair) and Brooke Meyers (Recreations Chair) have officially completed their time on the board.  Thank you for all your hard work to serve this community for the last three years!

We have a new co-Grounds Chair – Adam Kallio! Welcome to the board, Adam! He’s been part of the Reforestation committee and is looking forward to his new role.

We’re going to start work on revising LDC bi-laws soon. Those will get voted on by residents in 2023 before being adopted.

We talked about the boat cleanup/inventory process. More details will be sent out about that and next steps.

Pool Opens for the Summer on June 11
It’s here! Summertime in LDC officially starts when the pool opens for good, right? Well, that is tomorrow, Saturday, June 11. Most days it will be open from 12 pm to 8 pm. On Sundays, it will be open from 12 pm to 6 pm. If there are closings due to weather or other unforeseen events, the first place we’ll post that is the LDC Facebook group (join using the link at the bottom of this email). Where possible, we’ll try to send out an email, but it may not be as timely as the updates on the LDC Facebook group.

Another reminder – we still don’t have a Recreations chair to help oversee the lifeguards. The remaining board members will try to help out where possible, but without someone to oversee issues that arise, there may be times when we have to close the pool. If you are interested in volunteering for this position or know someone who is interested in helping out (and this doesn’t just have to be one person), please send an email to ldcnewsnow@gmail.com.

Note: Dogs aren’t allowed in the pool, except for Doggy Dip day in September. But what doesn’t say summer like a dog with sunglasses on hanging out with his buddies in a pool? 😉
