Sign Up Now Available: Reforestation Ad Hoc Committee

In an effort to move forward in getting bids for a succinct planting plan (approved for fall 2022 planting), we are assembling an ad hoc committee that is representative of the entire community. We are looking for volunteers from each court, 1 from lower, 1 from upper, and two volunteers from the Lake.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to meet as often as needed in person. The committee members must be willing to put in quite a bit of time on the following:

  • Learning about reforestation best practices
  • Reviewing the detailed assessment report from Johnson Nursery
  • Helping solicit the bids
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of each planting proposal that we receive
  • Court/lake representatives will be expected to reach out to neighbors for input and vote accordingly

The committee will be responsible for coming to a decision on which proposal best suits the needs of our community. Our goal is to have this process completed in order to present it to the HOA for approval this May.

Note: The slots for Flanders, Picardy and Provence have already been assigned as those residents volunteered at our December meeting (Andrew Kerr wrote in their names on the signup chart so that’s why you’ll also see his name, but he’s not assigned to those courts).

If you have any further questions about this committee, you can send them to our LDC board email: ldcnewsnow@gmail.com or you can reach out to our Grounds Chair directly:  Meg Noyes (megnoyes@att.net) or Andrew Kerr (agkerr3@gmail.com).
