The 2022 Adopt-A-Tree program was deferred to 2023 and will be completed by late spring/early summer. Due to overages in the 2022 Grounds spending, the Adopt-A-Tree program was able to modify its planned approach and reduce spending by 80%, saving ~$2.5K. We are seeking additional interest in those willing to help plant the ~12-15 trees that homeowners have volunteered to purchase and maintain. If interested in supporting a planting day in ~May/June please contact Chris Korjenek (ckorjenek@gmail.com) and John Hagerbaumer (hagerbmr@gmail.com). Summary of program and update: – ~10 homeowners signed up with interest to volunteer to purchase a tree(s) – Homeowners selected 5 common court areas and 3 community areas (Donges Bay entry-way and near clubhouse/field) for planting – Marking of planting locations and review with Grounds/local residents will occur in late spring – Trees will be procured from Minors nursery – LDC will sponsor the planting materials, watering bags, and deer protection – Homeowners/volunteers will assist with planting – Homeowners/volunteers will provide watering until established Due to the budget, any additional interest is closed for the 2023 season and requests will be evaluated for continuation in future years.
