The social committee has been working on a very fun idea to unite LDC residents at the beginning of another great summer in Lac Du Cours. That’s right, the first-ever LDC Court Crawl. What’s an LDC Court Crawl? Glad you asked! This is a neighborhood crawl through the courts on Saturday, June 4th sometime in the afternoon into the evening. We’ll play games, drink drinks, get to know each other as we make our way together through LDC. It’s planned for us, by us and will end with our own community band at the LDC clubhouse. But first…we need to pick the courts to stop at Before we get too ahead of ourselves, we need to figure out what courts we’ll be stopping at. Once we know how many courts are interested, and where they’re located, we can better come up with a mapped route and a timeline so it’s easy to understand where to go and when. Action Item #1: Volunteer to be a Court Lead by May 15. If that doesn’t interest you, we also need some help when we arrive at the Clubhouse. But here’s what you’ll be responsible for if you want to have your court be a stop on the route. – Court leads will convene with their neighbors to plan a gathering for attendees on June 4th. It might be a half-hour or less depending on how many courts sign up. – Prepare drinks for adults – this is your choice! Get with your neighbors to decide what cocktail, drink, or other spirits you want to provide at your court for all of the other LDC residents roaming around. – Don’t forget the kids! Let’s make sure kids get something tasty to drink (non-alcoholic, of course) – Finally – let’s make it a little fun. Provide a game or activity that can be played by kids and adults. Action item #2: RSVP to attend by May 27! We’ll need to get a full headcount of adults and children who want to partake by May 27 so that the courts hosting know how much to prepare for everyone when they stop by. More Details We’ll end the evening at the LDC Clubhouse where our LDC resident band called “West Riviera” will play. We’ll also have a bonfire going, the pool will be open and more (still working out some details). As we get a pulse on interest and courts involved, we’ll share more details. But for now, let’s get the countdown started to another epic LDC summer. Questions? Please contact your LDC Social Chair, Gretchen Miller, at 414-630-6723 |
