Thank you for your patience as we wrapped up our end-of-year notes and prepared the updated (and approved) 2022 Budget based on our December Board Meeting.
Although we don’t technically approve the meeting notes for this meeting until our next in-person meeting, we wanted to get these notes out to everyone to provide further context on the updates that were made to both the 2021 budget and the 2022 budget.
You’ll find a detailed accounting of the updates made to both in the meeting minutes linked below. In addition, we’re working on getting out an updated Budget table, but we’re still confirming end-of-year actuals with Brad Brogan and the Bank. We’ll send out an updated budget table as soon as we have it ready.
Here’s a summary of the major events that took place at the December Board/Budget meeting.
- A motion was passed unanimously to pay down the line of credit in 2021, drawing from reserves (50K) and operating expenses (an additional 50k on top of what was already paid – so a total of 100k).
- The budget of 60k for reforestation in 2022 was approved as a means to go secure a bid – but no money will be spent until the community approves of a plan. Additionally, an ad-hoc committee will be formed to represent the interests of all LDC courts/Lake houses. More details to follow in a subsequent email with a signup link.
- There were some updates made to the 2022 proposed budget (outlined in the meeting notes) which brought the final proposed operating expenses to $203,702. This plus the proposed capital projects of $85k brought the total 2022 budget to $288,702 and this budget was approved by all in attendance.
Thank you for all your help shaping this budget for 2022 and for the active community participation. We look forward to another great year in Lac Du Cours!
