Clarifying Details on the Virtual Board Meeting and Voting via Proxy

Less than twenty-four hours after our 2022 budget proposal was sent and we’ve already received lots of feedback! It’s truly awesome to see how much everyone cares about our community.

As our meeting approaches, we’d like to remind residents about our social media policy, which is posted to the LDC Facebook page and available on our website. If anyone has a question for the board, please email it to the board’s email address – ldcnewsnow@gmail.com or to any of the board members via phone or email.

As was stated in the budget proposal packet, this year’s meeting is going to be virtual – similar to the meeting held in December 2020. Due to Daylight Savings, colder temperatures, and the fact that we’re still dealing with a pandemic, we simply do not think it’s a good idea to host a two-hour event in an indoor space that will not allow for appropriate social distancing.

The virtual meeting will allow people to ask questions and voice concerns out loud or via the meeting’s chat feature. By conducting the meeting virtually, the board is not intending to stifle discussion and looks forward to a robust conversation about our proposal.

If you would prefer to vote by proxy, we would like to be sure we have a physical copy of your completed/signed form. This can be accomplished by:

  1. Placing the completed form in the box labeled “PROXIES HERE,” which is located outside the east entrance of the Clubhouse
  2. Returning the completed form  to any of the board members
  3. Taking a picture of the completed form and sending it as an attachment to ldcnewsnow@gmail.com
  4. Scanning and emailing the completed form to ldcnewsnow@gmail.com
  5. Calling Lindsey Burghardt, who will be happy to pick-up your completed form
  6. Get a neighbor to help you do one of these things (i.e., you could give your form to whomever you nominate as your Proxy and ask that she/he get the form – or a picture or copy of the form – to the board.)

As a reminder, if you vote via proxy, you are essentially delegating your vote to whomever you appoint. So, if your proxy votes to support the budget proposal, so do you, and vice versa. If you appoint the board, you will be voting to pass our budget proposal.

Please keep an eye out for more communications about the budget proposal and meeting as the date approaches! We look forward to hearing from all of you!
