Other Details – Q&A Style
Do you have any more questions? Well just in case you have a couple, here are some additional details that might save you from raising your hand.

What kind of food and beverage will be served on LDC Day?
Unlike past years, this year all meals will be fully provided (minus beverages, as explained above) for those attending. Here’s an idea of what will be served…

Morning: “Breakfasty” snacks and coffee will be provided at the clubhouse after the parade.

Lunch: Sub sandwiches, chips and small sides. There’s a chance it will be pizza so come prepared for either!

Dinner: Brats, hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, coleslaw, veggie tray, cheese tray, dessert tray and whole lot of other sides that are too many to list here.

Throughout the day: Cotton Candy, snow cones, roasted corn on the cob, soda, juice, water and adult beverages (beer, seltzers and wine).

What do you need to bring?
A great attitude! Oh and depending on what you volunteered for, you may need to bring some things. Like if you volunteered to provide a cooler – bring that this Saturday at noon.

Additionally, this is a long day of events. A lot of people come and go throughout the day and the great part is you’re never too far from home if you need something! Some people park it in front of the pool with friends, others come and go in the clubhouse or outside on the picnic tables.

What should you expect on LDC Day?
LDC Day is whatever you make it. Some people love to come to LDC day to learn more about their neighbors and meet all the great people that live here! Some love to have their grandkids come and take advantage of all the fun this day has to offer. Some come for the roasted corn and to try their hand at Bingo (and then if we’re lucky, Karaoke). This is a day that has a lot to offer regardless of your interests.

Not to forget, there are a LOT of volunteers helping make this day great for all their fellow neighbors. Three cheers to our volunteers!

Can I still register?
I get it. You’re reading these emails and you think “Wow. I didn’t know how amazing this would be. I should have signed up!” Well, you’re right. It IS going to be amazing. Luckily for you, Gretchen Miller (our Social Chair organizing this event) is a very gracious person who is happy to include anyone who wants to join in…even if you did miss the previous memos on registering. There’s still time to drop your registration off at her house on Normandy. All of the details are in this registration form

How does LDC Day happen?
With a LOT of hard work from our Social Chair, the LDC Day planning committee and the many, MANY volunteers who step up to make this day what it is. This is by far our biggest event every year and it is also by far the event most residents look forward to. Every year we find ways to improve upon past years and shake things up (like hey, did you know we’ll have seltzers this year?!?!). But seriously, it takes a lot of coordination. Thank you to all those who help!

How is this funded?
LDC day is funded partly with registration costs and partly with board funds that are allocated for the social committee. The board funds are spread across multiple events that may happen throughout the year, but most of the funds go towards LDC day since it is by far our biggest social event, and the one residents look forward to the most.

Will the lake be open for LDC Day?
This is a call that our Lake chair, Jon Douglas, will have to make. But given recent communications, it is likely that the lake will still be closed this Sunday for LDC Day. The beach will still be open for events, and the pool will definitely be open, but residents should stay out of the lake until further notice.
