LDC Day Planning is Underway! Gretchen Miller has taken up the last remaining board position to be our newest Social Chair and with that has formed a committee to help plan this year’s Lac Du Cours Day happening Sunday, September 5 (you got the save the date right?). We’ll have much more to share with you soon, but wanted to start with some important items… LIMITED TIME OFFER: LDC Shirts and hats are now available for purchase Now through August 9, there is a web store open where you can purchase LDC-branded shirts and hats in all different colors and sizes (for youth and adults). Additionally, there are a variety of all white styles as we may do a tie-dying event at or around LDC Day if we can get some volunteers to help with that. The web store will not be available after August 9 so we can ensure delivery of items prior to Lac Du Cours day. Get your LDC swag now before it’s too late! VISIT THE STORE Purchase LDC Swag Hold on…What is LDC Day? We’ve got a lot of new people in the neighborhood since we last had an LDC Day back in 2019. So let’s break this down a bit. Lac Du Cours Day is a day of fun for all ages that takes place at the area surrounding the clubhouse. What can you expect? We’ll send out a full agenda soon, but here’s a sampling… Meals, snacks and drinks served all day long (yes, including adult beverages) Bike and pet parade starting at the “triangle” going around to the clubhouse Bounce house Dunk Tank Face Painting Kids Triathalon Wiffle Ball (new this year!) Soccer Tennis Basketball Scavenger Hunt Kids Bing Adult Bingo DJ Karaoke Roasted Corn Swim races Sand Castle contest Cotton Candy and Popcorn A couple pictures from past events… What’s Next? The LDC Day committee just met yesterday with a couple of action items to complete very soon. Call for Volunteers… As we’ve previously mentioned, this day takes a lot of volunteers to make it work. The next thing we’ll send out is a link to a SignUpGenius page where you can sign up to volunteer for a variety of positions throughout the day. Maybe you want to oversee the dunk tank for an hour or help kids with the cotton candy machine or maybe you want to help with cleanup. Whatever you can do to help out will make this day all the better for everyone. Mailbox stuffers… In order to plan the right amount of food and help that we need, everyone needs to sign up to attend and there is a small cost per person to participate in all of the events. We’ll be stuffing mailboxes with the full registration instructions, the updated agenda, and any other details you need to prep for LDC Day. We’ll also send an email out letting you know when to look for those. Fun but flexible… Additionally, things might look a bit different this year. We’re keeping the overall fun and excitement of LDC Day intact, but we are still taking into consideration what it means to have a big event put on after we’ve all been locked down for so long. We’ll provide more updates as they come, and keep checking your email, website, and Facebook group for more details. Thank you all for your support! – LDC Day Social Committee (pictured below) |
