A brief delay to address emergency storm damage may have slowed them down, but Gollnick & Sons continue to remove dead ash trees from the LDC common areas.
Currently, they’re removing trees bordering Upper Riviera Court and the athletic field. Tomorrow — Tuesday, June 16 — they’ll need to block off LeMont Blvd. from LeGrande Blvd. to Riviera Court while they remove several trees from both sides of the road. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
Once completed, they’ll move to other sections, including but not limited to areas near Brittany, Picardy and Alsace Courts. They also plan on mulching the large area between Brittany and Burgundy Courts that was left after buckthorn and ash tree removal.
Replanting
After a number of requests, we want to provide guidance for replanting while reemphasizing our existing rules around common area planting.
We request that residents who wish to proactively improve common areas submit a review to the Grounds Committee. Please harmonize requests with impacted neighbors prior to submitting your proposal. Submit these requests to:
- David Raphael: davidrap2000@yahoo.com
- Meg Noyes: megnoyes@att.net
- Chris Korjenek: ckorjenek@gmail.com
We encourage owners to submit plans in resonance with our founders’ mission statement:
The general purpose of this declaration is to help assure Lac Du Cours will become and remain an attractive community and toward that end to preserve and maintain the natural beauty of certain open spaces and recreational areas.
Reminder #1: This is not the time to expand grass and turf into common areas. We are committed to reviewing and approving plans that help with the beautification of the areas impacted by the Ash Borer.
Yard Waste
Reminder #2: No yard waste should be placed in the common areas, per the by-laws. Also, please do not place sticks and buckthorn by the roads unless for a scheduled pickup. All such debris must be taken to the Mequon dump.
