We’re excited to announce the opening of the 2020 LDC Pool on Saturday, June 13!
We’re taking all necessary precautions to keep you and your family safe. In accordance with the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department recommendation of a 25% capacity limit, pool attendance will initially be limited to 50 people. To keep you safe, we’re anticipating at least three sessions per day. All members must vacate the pool immediately at the end of their session so our lifeguard staff can disinfect all furniture and equipment for the next session of families to enjoy safely.
Reservations will be required to use the pool at the beginning of this season. Sign-up will be offered through Sign-Up Genius. The link will be sent via email each Wednesday for the following Saturday-Friday. Initially, each family will be allowed to sign up for three sessions per week and only one session per day. As we get a feel for demand, we’ll look into opening up additional session frequency. Capacity and session length/frequency could change as the season goes on. Please know that we are trying to come up with the best plan to keep everyone safe.
Our neighborhood volunteer group has worked as a team and consulted with other pools and health/safety organizations to draft this protocol. Please know that planning and policy will be fluid through this summer swim season.
At this time, swim lessons will not be offered. Social events (Splash Days; Midnight Swims; Flick and Floats) are on hold until pool capacity recommendations allow for additional capacity.
2020 LDC POOL SEASON
Sat. June 13- Labor Day
Current Policies:
- 50 people will be allowed in the pool area (pool and deck space). There’ll be three, 2-hour sessions each day.
- Residents must enter through the east gate (by parking lot/playset). You’ll be greeted by a lifeguard for check-in and seating assignment.
- Seating is set up in groups of 2 (chaises); 4 and 6 (tables/picnic tables). Each seating group is separated by at least 6 feet. At this time, we’re asking for a max of 6 people per household for each session. Due to limitations, no guests will be allowed at this point. Please do not move any furniture to be near friends.
- Restrooms will be open; however, we ask that swimmers arrive showered and pool ready. Plan to leave in your suit.
- When returning to the pool after visiting the beach, play-set or sports fields, please rinse off using the lakeside outdoor shower and sanitize prior to re-entering the pool. Parents – your diligence in helping your children is needed.
- There’ll be no pool toys allowed at the pool, including noodles and tubes. If your child needs a lifejacket, you must provide it and take it home when you leave.
- With the added restrictions, children 12 and under need to be accompanied by a parent.
- Please don’t congregate by the stairs in the shallow end of the pool and by the diving board. Both are pinch points where social distancing will be toughest to maintain. Parents – your diligence in helping your children is again needed.
- We ask that carry-ins be limited to snacks and drinks appropriate for a two-hour period. There’s no need for large bulky coolers and wagons that limit other resident’s ability to distance. When possible, please leave strollers and wagons outside of the pool area. Also remember: No glass at the pool!!!!
The following CDC regulations are required:
- Social distancing must be practiced at all times, even in the pool, unless family. Please ensure your young children are keeping appropriate distance from others while in the pool.
- Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently. Hand sanitizer stations are located around the pool deck.
- Face masks are recommended but not required.
Reservations:
- Reservations will be available via Sign-Up Genius. The link will be sent out each Wednesday for the Saturday-Friday of the upcoming week.
- Since we’re operating at 25% capacity, you’re allowed to sign up your immediate family three times during the week, but not on the same day. Immediate family is defined as those living at a LDC residence together, a babysitter/nanny/caretaker, adult children and grandchildren. No party greater than six per session.
- Guests will not be allowed at this time.
Watch for an email in the next week outlining hours, sessions and sign-up details. We welcome the help of any volunteers available to assist in managing of our reservation system.
