What’s the hottest sport currently sweeping the nation? If you guessed cucumberball, you were close, but not quite. It’s PICKLEBALL … and it’s about to take over Lac du Cours!
We’re having a Pickleball Mixer on Monday, Aug. 20 at the tennis courts, open to anyone. We’ll start with brief instruction from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and play from 7 to 8 p.m. Equipment will be provided. Please contact Chris Korjenek to RSVP.

Little Bit o’ Flick, Little Bit o’ Float
Get your rafts ready for the next Flick and Float this Friday, Aug. 17 at the pool. The Greatest Showman, rated PG and starring Wolverine, will be shown after 8 p.m. There’ll also be Get Them While They’re Hot Tamales and the LDC kids lemonade stand.
Scavenger Hunt
The last scavenger hunt of the summer for middle and high school kids is Monday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the clubhouse. It’s highly recommended that kids come on a bike, scooter or Bigfoot monster truck.
The last scavenger hunt for 2- to 5-year-olds will begin at 3:15 and last about 30 minutes. Kids must be accompanied by a responsible person, such as Hugh Jackman.
End-of-Summer Rec Party
The End-of-Summer Recreation Party is Thursday, Aug. 16 at 5:45 in the clubhouse. All are welcome to come see what the kids have been up to all summer. Performances will include hip hop, dance, juggling and, maybe, hip-hop dance juggling. There’ll be photo displays from the LDC photography class and goodies baked by the kids.
Story Telling
Story telling at the clubhouse will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15 and 22 at 9:30 a.m. All ages are welcome.
